About Darryl Harris

 Darryl Harris was born in Emmett, Idaho, 1941 and raised in McCammon, Idaho. He is the son of Reed and Evelyn Harris. He graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1959. Following his graduation, he attended Idaho State University 1959-61. 

Darry Harris served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Seoul, Korea from 1961-64.

Upon returning home from his mission, he attended and graduated from Brigham Young University. He received his degree in Communications with an emphasis in advertising and journalism. As a student, he won the Wall Street Journal/Deseret News Scholarship.

After graduation from BYU, he worked as a reporter for Deseret News and Idaho Falls Post-Register. He then spent three years working as an account executive at David W. Evans Advertising Agency in Salt Lake City. In this role, he handled accounts for major clients, including U.S. Steel Farm Service Centers, Thiokol Logan Division tracked vehicles, Park West Ski Resort, U and I Sugar (Cultivator Magazine), and Grand Targhee Ski Resort.

In 1972, he established Harris Publishing, Inc in Idaho Falls. He started with Potato Grower, and then quickly added additional titles, including The Sugar Producer, Cutter and Chariot Racing World, SnoWest, Sledheads, Houseboat, Pontoon and Deck Boat, Diesel Tech, Idaho Falls Magazine, Today's Playground, Dirt Toys.

He is included in Who's Who in the United States and who's Who in the West.
